The 5-Day Family Legacy Sample Itinerary
A 5-day window allows us to move beyond the drive-by sightings, prioritizing the Big 13 wildlife and the park’s most iconic landscapes on nature’s schedule.
Day 1: Grand Teton Sunrise & Glacier Lakes We begin with a Sunrise Safari in Grand Teton National Park, scouting for massive bull moose and bear cubs in the spring meadows. After breakfast, we glide across Jenny Lake by boat for a hike to the 100-foot roar of Hidden Falls. We conclude the day entering Yellowstone’s South Entrance, witnessing the geothermal power of West Thumb before an evening safari along the Madison River.
Day 2: Geysers, Terraces & Black Bear Country After a morning exploring the heartbeat of the park at Old Faithful, we head North. We navigate the limestone towers of Obsidian Cliff and the frozen waterfalls of the Mammoth Hot Springs travertine terraces. The afternoon is spent in the Black Bear Capital of Yellowstone, watching cubs climb Douglas firs near Tower Fall.
Day 3: Whitewater & The American Serengeti Adventure meets education. We start the day with a thrilling raft trip down the Yellowstone River before heading into the Lamar Valley. Known as the American Serengeti, this is our time for a Predator Watch, using high-end spotting scopes to track the Junction Butte wolf pack and grizzly families in the golden afternoon light.
Day 4: Wild West Legends & Ancient Echoes We move into “Wyoming Beyond.” After exploring the world-class Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, we head to the Legend Rock Petroglyph Site to walk among 300 ancient carvings. We finish the day with a soak in the world’s largest mineral hot springs in Thermopolis.
Day 5: Dinosaurs, Canyons & The Grand Reveal Our final day takes us to the Wyoming Dinosaur Center and through the 2,500-foot granite walls of Wind River Canyon. As we crest Togwotee Pass, we look for high-country grizzlies before the the moment the jagged Teton skyline pierces the horizon, welcoming you back to Jackson Hole.
